Growing up in Oregon it was easy to become attached to the beauty of the Pacific Northwest landscape. From my early days camping with my family and traveling to most of Oregon's unique places it seems that it was natural that I would gravitate toward photography as my occupation, which it has been since been.
 My professional journey started at art fairs around the Northwest. My partner in the journey has been my wife Laurie. We have mostly displayed our photographs at locations that we ran our selves starting in 1977 when we opened a store called Oregon Originals in Corvallis which no longer exists. Through the years we owned stores at Yamhill Marketplace in Portland and Fifth Street Public Market in Eugene. We opened the store in Cannon Beach Oregon in 1987, it has been managed by Jake Bentley since we opened. We currently have two other locations at 15 Broadway in Seaside, OR and in Eugene on Fifth Street.
I grew up in Eugene and graduated from high school and college there. I never really considered leaving Oregon because of all it has to offer. The landscape has just about everything there is that nature could offer. You may be able to get in the water other places, but the Oregon coast is one of the most beautiful anywhere. The mountain areas are also truly spectacular.
Since I have been photographing so long I have seen many changes in photographic technology. The new digital and computer technology of today make the equipment I started with seem archaic. The Photos we display are taken with three different cameras, a Linhoff 4x5 camera, a Pentax 6x7 camera or a Canon 1ds Mark III camera. I do my own printing and Laurie does the matting. We try to create a product that is of the highest quality. We would like to thank all of our customers for supporting us . |
